I have installed both Warhammer online and FFXI on my Toshiba Satellite model A305-S6858 which has Vista on it. Warhammer looks fine however FFXI isn't looking correct with mostly the characters and mobs in the game. They flicker and appear to only show some of the colors or all the colors and parts of the character or mob are missing. I'm not sure what settings I need to change if I can to make this work correctly. I have installed the newest DirectX and video drivers and still not working properly and this is even after I reinstalled the OS. Which I did for other reason. I'm going through some laptops and I'm looking for one that has good speed. I probably will not be playing any games on it, so having a good gaming card in not necessary. I might download videos, but not many. I will mostly be surfing the internet so a laptop that has a good wireless speeds is important. Memory is not as important as I can upgrade it. I would like to stay away from AMD processors, and HP laptops altogether, but I included some HP laptop (one of which has this processor) below. So far, the sony sounds like my best bet to me, or mabe the gateway. Hi, My laptop (HP Pavilion) comes with LAN Express IEEE 802.11 PCI adapter. I want to buy a router and have been trying to find the appropriate one for my wireless hardware. Most of the routers I find, say that they support 802.11a/b/g networks.. Will these work for my hardware? If not, which router can I buy which will work for my laptop? I was trying to use my friend's linksys router ( don't know other specifications of this router), but I was not able to install it on my laptop. It says computer hardware does not support it.. So I will have to buy a router that is compatible with the hardware that I have. Thanks much. Actually i found out the specifications of the router that I mentioned above (which did not work on my laptop). It is Linksys WRT54G Wireless Router. Yesterday, my computer crashed so I had to reload Windows XP onto it. Last time this happened, my wireless adaptor immediately was able to reload and it worked. This time it didn't. i asked be4, but got no help, and i still have a prob with my internet!!! ill make best answer to anyone who gives me the most help, regardless if it helps or not, so please help!!! my prob is that my wireless internet keeps disconnecting when i run large programs, or download large videos that require buffering. i think it might be a prob with my memory or something, and i looked it up and it might be the power save option, but i am not completely sure. i have a ZyDAS IEEE 802.11 b+g Wireless LAN - USB, it is the wireless that i got from wifimax box, product for psp to get internet, but i have been using it to get internet on my laptop. i have used it for a very long time, and it has never had this problem i until recently. i also have a pcg-frv37 laptop. and if this helps, when i play games that i downloaded and are really large, about several gigs, and requires internet, my internet disconnects. i have updated all my drivers, and this prob stil is here. please help!!! more
