Here is a list of stuff in my room - Blurry TV -Slow computer - I have a cieling fan in my closet but she wont hire someone to put it up - I have no cell phone (used to but it was cheap and it broke) ============================== Now I notice that my friends can be the worst child in the world but thier parent by them: -Flat screen TVs -Ceiling fans -Smartphones - iMacs - Laptops - 4 wheelers ============================== Why is my mom bieng a selfish ? I try and be nice to her but all she do is trip and whine & nag. Ive wanted the T-Mobile Wing for a (flippin) year but when X-Mas comes around this cheap (lady) buys me a cheap nokia flip that broke before Feb. even ended!!! and when it broke she doesnt offer to buy me a new phone, what this stupid (edited) does is turn my SIM off and go on with her life. I told her that the phone doesnt even have to be activated (the Wing can work without SIM, just no phone calls) I was just going to use the Wing to connect to my WiFi and get on AIM and check my MySpace and add some music to it and use it as a music player. and use it to make YouTube toutorials with the camera (using a 32 GB Micro SD) but noooo lil ol Keyon cant have good (stuff). Well, I have been looking for a Flat panel TV, but dont know if I should go LCD or Plasma. I am looking for a 37-42 inch tv. The problem is, I dont know which one I should get. With the prices coming down on Plasmas and LCDS becoming popular, I really dont know. I hear a couple rumors about both. It seems as if the Plasmas can get that burning picture into its screen and on LCDs, they can get ghosting or the pixels can go bad, needeng to replace the whole screen. I am only looking for 720p cause I really am not getting HD cable.I had someone offer me a 46 inch 1080 LCD about a year old for 800.00, but its used though and dont know about buying used Flat panels cause of no warranty. There are alot of factors in buying these tvs, expense vs size...Durability vs clarity. Its weird cause it seems some LCDS have a better picture than plasmas, but yet other plasma have a higher contrast and are cheaper. So, which one do you think is better to get LCD or Plasma? Also, if you can add any more knowledge that would be cool. more

I've just bought a house. Up until now I've been living in rented accommodation, making do with a 14" portable TV. Now that I'm moving to a proper house, I want a decent sized TV, but apart from the fact that I can't afford to spend a fortune on it, I don't actually LIKE flat screen TVs, they just look like computer monitors to me. I want an "old fashioned" normal TV, preferably with a black surround (anything I've found so far is silver and looks pretty cheap and tacky). You wouldn't think it would be so difficult, but everything is huge, ridiculously expensive plasma flat screen...........it seems you can't buy "normal" TVs anymore!! more

Voting Question: Why does a wide screen TV not pick up the entire wide-screen broadcast without the ends cut off?

My parents have a wide screen TV that has no problem with either wide-screen or full-screen formats on DVD. Now, the cable companies are showing a lot of programs in wide-screen, but I can't figure out how to make them show up in wide-screen on the TV. Instead, they show up with the ends cut off, as if for the older style 3:4 TVs. My parents get digital cable, but it is a somewhat old (maybe 5 years?), flat-screen TV. Which of these things might be the culprit? Can it be reprogrammed? And also - why are cable companies cutting off the ends of our shows, instead of putting them in letterboxes? I would rather have a small picture than be missing out on the subtitles and peripheral action! Is there a way to change this on my own 3:4 TV? "Cheap" or not ($1000 is cheap now? Geez) I can't really buy a new TV at the moment. more

We're getting cable Internet and TV installed from Comcast tomorrow. Do I need to get a Comcast digital cable box or can I just plug coax into the TV and I get digital TV? Someone just gave my roommate an HDTV. I'm not sure how old it is, but it seems new, I think someone mentioned that it was bought last year, but the model, I'm not too sure about. It's 50", and it's pretty big, but its' not a flat screen. It's basically the same models as those huge TVs that looks like a mini-theater screen with an almost equally huge speaker at the bottom. Anyway, there's a yellow, blue, and red streak on the tv. I'd say it looks either like a stain (you know when you get a stain on a cloth, sometimes, the stain's outline gets left behind?) on the screen OR just a siesmograph-reminiscent line (the ones that go up and down.) I know that the red, blue, and yellow colors has something to do with the screen's pixels, but I'm just curious -- Another roommate said that those lines/streaks are temporary, and was only there because of it's exposure to the cold (it was outside for a bit.) Is this true? Is it temporary? If not, can it be fixed? Will it be cheap? more
